KENAF INNOVATION GALLERY

The idea of kenaf handicraft development was triggered during the Malaysian delegation to the International Conference on Prospects of Jute & Kenaf as Natural Fibredi Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, Dhaka, Bangladesh from 5 to 13 February 2009. The delegates participated by MPIC, NKTB and UPM had the opportunity to interact with the jut manufacturers and had the opportunity to be exposed to handicraft development in Bangladesh. As a result of the visit, NKTB is advised to take reasonable steps to promote kenaf, introducing kenaf handicrafts as what has been done by Bangladesh.
