The National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) received a working visit from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) at the LKTN Headquarter in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
This working visit aimed to share information about the kenaf and tobacco industry in Malaysia. The DOSM delegation was led by YBrs. En. Amri Idris (Head of Contingent), while LKTN was represented by En. Nik Muhamad Azhar Nik Mustapha (Eastern Region Manager), Ts. Mohd Za’im Mohd Nor (Director of Research and Development), and En. Mohd Norsyam Yahaya (Assistant Director of Strategic Planning).
The visit began at the Kenaf Gallery at LKTN Headquarter, where an explanation was given about tobacco cultivation and licensing activities, followed by an explanation about the kenaf industry, including activities related to cultivation, processing, and production of kenaf-based products.
Next, the delegation was taken to a company to observe the development of kenaf-based products from research and development (K-Nuffcrete) involving collaboration between LKTN, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and Vertex Group.
