MEGA INTERGRATED OPERATION FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SMOKING
PRODUCTS CONTROL ACT 2024 (ACT 852) AROUND STATE OF KEDAH
The Kedah State Health Department has implemented a Mega Intergrated
Operation for the Enforcement of the Public Health Smoking Product Control Act
2024 (Act 852) around Alor Setar, Kedah involving a total of 150 officers from
several agencies namely the Kedah State Health Department, the National Kenaf
and Tobacco Board (LKTN ) Kedah, Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM),
Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and Alor Setar City
Council (MBAS).
This Mega Intergrated Operation was officiated by YBrs. Dr. Ismuni Bin
Bohari, Health Director of the Kedah State Health Department which aims to
introduce a new Act that has been approved under the Malaysian Ministry of
Health (Act 852) Public Health Smoking Products Control Act 2024.
LKTN Negeri Kedah has participated in operations in reviewing and
registration of Tobacco Distribution or Tobacco Release Licenses in accordance
with the LKTN Act 2009 (Act 692) and the LKTN (Tobacco Licensing and Tobacco
Release) Regulations 2011 involving 5 Authorized Officers (PDK) from LKTN Kedah.
LKTN is committed to ensuring that all premises that sell tobacco products have
a valid license to conduct business.
