The Perlis State Health Department has implemented an Integrated Mega Operation for the Enforcement of the Smoking Product Control Act for Public Health 2024 (Act 852) around Kangar, Perlis involving a total of 80 officers from several agencies namely the Perlis State Health Department, National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN, Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), and Kangar Municipal Council (MPK).
This Integrated Mega Operation was officiated by YBrs. Dr. Ghazali Bin Chik Health Director Perlis State Health Department which aims to introduce a new Act that has been approved under the Malaysian Ministry of Health (Act 852) Smoking Products Control Act for Public Health 2024.
LKTN Negeri Perlis has participated in operations for the review and registration of Tobacco Distribution or Tobacco Production Licenses in accordance with the LKTN Act 2009 (Act 692) and the LKTN (Tobacco Licensing and Tobacco Production) Regulations 2011 involving the strength of 4 Authorized Officers (PDK). LKTN is committed to ensuring that all premises that sell tobacco products have a valid license to conduct business.
