INTEGRATED MEGA OPERATION FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THE TOBACCO PRODUCT CONTROL ACT FOR PUBLIC HEALTH 2024 [ACT 852] AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL IN THE STATE OF PAHANG

INTEGRATED MEGA OPERATION FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THE TOBACCO PRODUCT CONTROL ACT FOR PUBLIC HEALTH 2024 [ACT 852] AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL IN PAHANG STATE

The National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) of Pahang was invited to participate in the Integrated Mega Operation for the Enforcement of the Tobacco Product Control Act for Public Health (Act 852) at the National Level in Pahang, held from October 17 to October 19, 2024.

This integrated operation also involved Enforcement Officers from various service schemes across all participating agencies, including the Pahang State Health Department, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), and the Local Authorities (PBT) in Pahang.

The purpose of this Mega Operation is to focus on the prohibition of promotion, advertising, and sponsorship, and to control the sale, purchase, and use of tobacco products, particularly electronic cigarettes and vapes, among minors (OBD).

In addition, LKTN conducted operations for the inspection and registration of Tobacco or Tobacco Product Distribution Licenses according to the LKTN Act 2009 (Act 692) and the LKTN Regulations (Tobacco and Tobacco Products Licensing) 2011, involving six Authorized Officers (PDK) from LKTN Pahang.

The Mega Operation concluded with the BeBAs Walkabout Program and the Integrated Mega Operation with YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, the Minister of Health Malaysia, around Kuantan city, Pahang. LKTN officers present at this session included the Deputy Director General (Management and Operations) of LKTN, Mr. Muhammad Zuhdi bin Mustaffa, Director of the Licensing and Enforcement Division of LKTN, Mr. Eizwan Muzani bin Adzmi, along with other LKTN officers.
