The National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) held a Premium Fiber Processing Management Course at Fikri Wetland Guesthouse & Resort, Setiu, Terengganu. This course was conducted to provide knowledge and improve skills in the management of premium fiber processing, to ensure the production of high-quality fiber adheres to the required standards and meets market demand.
This course was officiated by YBrs. Ts. Mohd Fadzhel Mohd Nasir, Deputy Director General (Development), and was attended by 47 participants who are staff members of LKTN. Also present was Ts. Mohd Za’im Mohd Nor, Director of the Research and Development Division.
On the first day, four presentations were conducted, which are Management of Harvesting and Post-Harvest Activities, Management of Bioretting Fiber Processing Center, Machinery and Mechanization Equipment, Post-Harvest and Processing of Green Stem, and Degumming Processing Technology.
On the second day, this course was continued at the Kenaf Processing Center (PPK) Saujana, involving demonstration and practical sessions on the methods of processing premium fiber through bio-retting and degumming. The session was led by En. Ahmad Firdaus and assisted by invited facilitators, En. Ibrahim Majid and En. Mohamad Azizi Mohamad Pakharuddin.
May this two-day course bring benefits to the LKTN staff in making LKTN a dynamic and progressive agency in the present and continue to excel in the future, especially in the production of premium fiber.
