SECOND DAY OF THE VISIT BY JPA AND KPK TO LKTN

On the second day, the delegation from the Public Service Department (JPA) and the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (KPK) visited the Marine Base of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) at Pengkalan Kubor, Tumpat, Kelantan. The purpose was to observe and inspect the regulatory activities concerning tobacco at the Malaysia-Thailand border. This visit also aimed to identify illegal jetties and the routes for unauthorized tobacco entry along the banks of the Golok River, using the Customs Patrol Boat.

The delegation was subsequently taken to visit licensed companies involved in the distribution and production of tobacco, namely Mahabbah Energy Resources Sdn Bhd in Kg. Pengu Berangan, Tumpat, JT International Sdn Bhd, and SL Ng Distributor Sdn Bhd in Tunjung, Kota Bharu.

The visit continued to the Headquarters of the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) in Kubang Kerian, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, where they toured the seizure storage, licensing counters, and mobile counters to receive briefings on the management process of seized goods and an overview of the licensing application activities at the counters by LKTN. The delegation concluded the second day of the visit at the Kenaf Gallery, the information center for kenaf at the LKTN Headquarters.

Muhammad Zuhdi Mustaffa (Marketing Director, acting Deputy Director General of Management and Operations of LKTN), YBrs. En. Mohammad Rafie Abdul Majid (Deputy Director of the Organizational Development Division of JPA), and YBrs. Pn. Hanim Abdollah (Secretary of the Human Resources Division of KPK).
