VISIT BY TAIWAN AND LOCAL COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES TO EXPLORE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE KENAF INDUSTRY

YBhg. Datuk Haji Wan Abd. Rahim Wan Abdullah, Chairman of the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN), welcomed representatives from a Taiwanese company and a local company interested in investing in the upstream and downstream kenaf industry.

The delegation visited the Kenaf Gallery and received a briefing and discussion on the kenaf industry at the Chairman’s Office of LKTN. The session was also attended by YBrs. Tuan Haji Wan Baharuddin Wan Ismail (Director-General) and Ts. Mohd Fadzhel Mohd Nasir (Deputy Director-General for Development).

The potential investment involves “private-driven” collaboration for the development of pilot plantations, as well as the establishment of processing plants and kenaf product manufacturing facilities.

LKTN welcomes private sector involvement in expanding the industry through commercialization efforts driven by private entities, supported by LKTN.
