The National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN Terengganu) received a visit from students of the Plantation Crops Subject at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to the Saujana Kenaf Industry Center, Setiu, Terengganu. LKTN Terengganu was represented by Mr. Muhamad Amirullah Nablan, Director of LKTN Terengganu.
A briefing during the visit to the Saujana Kenaf Industry Center was delivered by Mr. Mohd Shamru bin Hamzah, LKTN Setiu Area Officer, and Mr. Nazrul Hisham Bin Mohamed, Manager of PIK Saujana.
The visit involved 30 students from the Plantation Crops Subject at UMT and 2 lecturers from UMT. The purpose of this visit was to provide early exposure to students about the development of the kenaf industry in Malaysia.
The visit began with a tour of the kenaf farm in Kg Guntong, Setiu, to observe firsthand the kenaf crops cultivated by smallholders.
The visit continued with a tour of the Saujana Premium Fiber Processing Center and the Saujana NonWoven Thermobonding Factory to learn about the production process of nonwoven products manufactured by Eadeco Nonwoven Sdn Bhd.
